The September 11th Scholarship Fund and the Scholarship Alliance
If you or your family were killed or permanently disabled during the terrorist attack on September 11th, 2001, there is a scholarship waiting for you. This includes all people that were directly involved in all the attacks. Air crewmen and flight crew are not exempt from this opportunity. It even includes firemen, policemen, and officers from the port authority. Whether you were personally injured or you are a family member of someone that was, you qualify for this scholarship.
The scholarship can be used in a two or four year college program or a vocational program that is approved. There are even funds allotted for graduate study if the student decides to continue their education and to move on to a master’s or doctorate degree. All the family members have to do is register and apply. The student can apply when they are graduating high school, entering a two year program. The application is open to all family members including those who were still in the womb on the date of the attack.
Registration is a one time process and only one registration will give the student to all scholarships recognized within the September 11th alliance. It doesn’t matter how old the student is or how severe the disabilities. It is wise to register all the family members at one time incase time or other circumstances erase the records of their involvement on that day. This way the registration is ready to go the minute the student enters school.
The application process is easy but needs to be completed as soon as is determined that a family member is going to attend school. Only one application needs to be filled out for consideration of the alliance scholarships and it needs to be completed by the current or next term student. A new application has to be completed each semester or quarter to make sure that new monies can be rewarded.
As the student’s grade point average rises, so will the availability of more scholarships. Some scholarships in the alliance depend on how well the student does in college with little regard to the high school transcripts. The more the student achieves, the more money will be awarded for tuition and books. As the student advances, the alliance of scholarships will revisit where the student is in his or her education and award them accordingly.
