How to Write Essay for Scholarships
Submitted by Jenny on Tue, 02/19/2008 - 18:50.When a student first applies for an scholarship or grant, sometimes the application process calls for an essay to be written about a certain subject so that the granters of he scholarship or grant can make a decision for who should be awarded the scholarship. There are a plethora of scholarships that require an essay. Sometimes when two students have the same GPA, the same civic and leadership resume, and the same ambitions, it is hard for the judges to make a reward of the money. Sometimes the essay is the tie breaker.
When writing an essay for a scholarship, you need to keep in mind the direction the judges want to go with it. For example, patriotism is a running theme in scholarship essay themes. When given the subject, you should address the positive aspect of the subject even though you might object of the concept completely. Only mention negative aspects as circumstances or outcomes of positive ones. Nobody wants to read an essay that will downgrade the very theme that the givers of the scholarship wants recognized.

How to Start Planning for College
Submitted by Jenny on Tue, 02/19/2008 - 18:44.It is never too early to begin planning for college. Whether you are in your freshman year or you are a little behind at getting ready for your further education, now is the best time to start planning. Those who start early usually have more of an advantage when picking a school, but it is never too late to start.
First, it is a good idea to get involved in your school as well as your community. This involvement will make you a more desirable candidate for a school as well as a scholarship. The more you are involved, the better your chances are of getting into a better school and getting more money for your education. The upside is that you get to make more friends and have a lot of fun while you do this.
Next, you will want to make sure that you keep your grade level as high as possible. One of the coldest truths is that people with high grade averages are usually chosen before those who slacked off. Even if it seems fun at the time, you should never let your school work suffer. It can mean the difference between a full scholarship and having to pay for school out of your own pocket.

Submitted by Jenny on Tue, 02/19/2008 - 18:40.College is an important aspect to anyone’s life. It is four years that you will take and dedicate to a field of study that could determine what kind of life and life style you will have in the future. The earlier a student starts to plan for college the more prepared they will be for the right kind of college and the finances it takes to get there. Preplanning in even the freshmen year of high school is prudent and the earlier one preplans, the better chance that student has of making their college goals.
As a freshman, you can start preplanning your college by taking the courses that will get you into the college and the field that you want to be in. This means that you may have to spend your high school career in some pretty tough classes. The better your transcript looks and the more honor or upper level classes you have, the more chance you will have in getting in the college you want to go in. The student also has to look at what core courses they will have. It is better to get your feet wet in high school than have a new subject dumped on you in college.

How to Pay off a Student Loan
Submitted by Jenny on Tue, 02/19/2008 - 18:35.If the world was sublime, everyone would go to college and no one would have to pay for it. Regrettably that world does not exist and in order to attend college most people have to take out a loan in some form or another. Unfortunately, when one borrows money from any kind of lending institution or other source it is expected to be repaid; hence the word "borrows". Before any money is loaned out, payment and terms are agreed upon and some sort of document is signed between the institution granting the loan to the individual receiving it.
