Scholarships Available in Arizona

Arizona is famous for its beautiful desert landscapes and great climate. So what does the state of Arizona offer its student population in term so scholarships and grants? It seems like there are many opportunities to those who are attending, or planning on attending two year institutions. Fortunately for many students a two year institution is their path of current pursuit. One source of financial aid offered is the Arizona Private Postsecondary Education Student Financial Assistance Program grant. This particular grant awards amounts that range from $750 to $1,500. For this award the proof of being financially dire is a must.
 
For those already in the midst of their academic year in a vocational, technical, two year, or four year program may benefit from Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP). Again, for the awarding of this assistance one must show proof of financial need. Individuals who clear a sizable paycheck each year shouldn't apply for scholarships such as these. The LEAP program awards money ranging between $100 and $2,500 regularly to those who qualify. If an individual were to secure a number of scholarships and grants such as these, it would greatly cover many of the high costs associated with continued learning after high school.
 
There are many programs that actually award those few high school students who continually worked towards achieving and maintaining high grades during their high school career. One such program is the Arizona Community College Scholarship. This organization makes available scholarships in the amount of $500 to those with plans for a two year Arizona community college. If already attending a four year institution and planning on pursuing a degree in tourism or travel then it would be wise to apply for a scholarship offered from the Arizona Chapter Gold Scholarship program. If chosen for this scholarship, the individual would be awarded a whopping $3000 which would definitely make a small dent in any college student's rising education costs. Of course, there is a glitch, one has to be in at least your second year, and of course freshman isn't eligible. Sometimes it really stinks to be a freshman.
 
What if an individual has a specific profession in mind? If this is the case there are certainly advantages to have your career path planned out. There are many scholarships offered to specific fields such as health care which offers scholarships from organizations such as the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Arizona Health Care Occupations Scholarships. Another is from the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Arizona Wilma Hoyal-Maxine Chilton Scholarship which is geared to those planning on a degree in special education, public programs, or political science. If you get these scholarships it would definitely be a tongue twister when referencing them.
